10 Upcoming Mobile Games to Play in 2023

2023 is shaping up to be a great year for mobile gamers, with an exciting lineup of upcoming titles that will keep you busy for hours. From high-profile franchises like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Call of Duty: Warzone to original titles such as Zenless Zone Zero and Propnight, here are 10 of the hottest games coming to iOS and Android in 2023.


Age of Empires Mobile

Age of Empires Mobile is an upcoming real-time strategy game set in the Age of Empires universe that allows players to command powerful armies across multiple historical eras while building cities, researching technologies, and forging diplomatic alliances with other civilizations. The game is being developed by Microsoft Studios in collaboration with World's Edge.

Unfortunately, not much has been shared about this anticipated title since its announcement in October of 2022.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is set within the same universe as its console counterpart, allowing players to experience the intense battle royale action on their mobile devices. Players will fight alongside classic characters from the series, such as Captain Price and Simon “Ghost” Riley, as they attempt to be the last one standing in a frenetic 150-player match. The game is being developed by Activision.

Platforms: Android and iOS (confirmed) Early Access: Yes, a limited release began in Australia on November 30, 2022. Pre-registration is now open on Google Play and pre-order is available on the App Store.

According to the Call of Duty blog, “Limited Release is a work-in-progress version that allows us to open the game to a much larger audience than our original Closed Alpha and in a real-world environment while still keeping it small enough to easily stress test matches and progression, find and fix bugs, as well as collect feedback and insights on all aspects of the game.” Controller Support: Very likely, yes. In an interview with GameSpot, Activision's VP of mobile, Chris Plummer, revealed that it is their intention to include controller support, though they have not yet identified which controllers will be supported. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is an upcoming mobile RPG based on the classic console title Final Fantasy VII. Set within the world of Midgar, players will explore iconic locations and fight familiar enemies while customizing their characters with powerful weapons and spells. The game is being developed by Square Enix.

Notable characters include Kiana Kaslana and Mei Raiden who must pilot their Valkyries through intense battles against alien forces controlled by AI commanders known as Kyouichi Shibaisai.

Path of Exile Mobile is an upcoming online action RPG from Grinding Gear Games that allows players to explore Path of Exile’s expansive world on their mobile devices for the first time ever! Players can choose from seven unique classes such as Witch or Marauder before embarking on their quest for loot and power within Wraeclast.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile is a tactical shooter game developed by Ubisoft. Notable characters include members of the Rainbow team, such as Caveira and Vigil, as well as enemies like the White Masks and Black Tusk.
