Getting Started
Unbox your Backbone and download the Backbone app with the QR code below to get started. The Backbone app automatically updates your Backbone One with the latest and greatest firmware to keep you playing anywhere, anytime. Create a username and set your profile picture. You can even connect your contacts to find your friends already on Backbone quickly.
After creating your account, you’ll be greeted with your new all-in-one gaming destination. The home screen is where you’ll keep all your favorite games, watch your friends' highlights and find new experiences to play on Backbone.
Playing Games on Backbone
There are many different ways to play on Backbone! You can pick from thousands of titles on the App & Play Store, play from your console & PC remotely or even stream games from the cloud. Our platform icons are a quick way to see how you can play any of the games in our library.
Playing PlayStation Games
You can use PlayStation Remote Play to connect to your console and play any game you already own while you’re away from home. Download the PlayStation Remote Play app from the App Store and Play Store to get started. For PS5, use this guide. For PS4, use this guide.
Playing Xbox Games
Without a Console You can use Xbox Cloud Gaming to access any game in our games library with the Xbox Platform icon (no console required). You’ll need a Microsoft account to get started. Check out how to set up Xbox Cloud Gaming in our guide here.
With a Console Connect to your console and play any game you already own on Xbox away from home. Check out the guide here. While we don’t list compatible Xbox Remote Play games in our library, any game you own on Xbox should work great with Remote Play.
Playing App Store and Google Play Store Games
Just download and start playing! Some games may have touch-only tutorials or require adjusting the in-game settings to enable controller support. Check out our games library to browse compatible titles or download them directly from the Backbone App. If you find a game with controller support that isn’t in our library, let us know so we can get it added!
Playing Steam Games
Without a PC Stream the games you already own on Steam games using GeForce Now, Nvidia’s cloud gaming service. Not all games on GeForce Now have controller support. You can check out supported titles on GeForce Now here. Check out our setup guide here.
With a PC Connect to your PC with Steam Link and play any controller-compatible game you already own while you’re out and about. Check out the guide here, or watch this helpful video tutorial by @Jose Maxim.
These are the most common ways to play on Backbone, but there are other services like Amazon Luna and Antstream Arcade with even more games that work with Backbone. We hope to expand this list in the future as more services pop up!
Redeeming Rewards
With Backbone+, you can access exclusive perks and in-game items to level up your play. You can always access these by going to the Perks & Rewards row in the Backbone App.
Referrals (US Only)
Invite your friends to play with your referral link. You and your friend will both receive a $10 App Store gift card. Use the Rewards button at the top of your home screen to get started!

With the Backbone App, there are tons of other awesome features to use to level up your play. Here are just a few to get you started.
Squad Up
Gaming is almost always better together. Connect with your friends on Backbone to join voice chat or message them & get updated on what they’re playing. Use the add friend button and search for their username!
Play on Any Screen
You can use your Backbone on other other devices like iPad, Mac, PC and more! You’ll need to configure the option in the Backbone App by heading to Menu -> Settings -> Controller -> Play On Any Screen.
TouchSync (Android Only)
With the power of TouchSync, we’re bringing controller support to previously touch-only titles from the Google Play Store like Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile. You can identify TouchSync supported games with the Orange TouchSync icon or find them in our games library. The first time you launch a TouchSync title in the Backbone App, you’ll get a tutorial prompt, but you can always refer to our guide here.
Recording & Highlight Creation
With the Backbone App, you can capture, edit, and share all of your epic gaming moments in 1080p at 60fps. By default, a single press of the dedicated capture button on your Backbone will trigger a recording, and a long press will capture a screenshot. Your recordings will show up in the Backbone app and can be edited into highlights quickly to share.
Stream To Twitch (iOS Only)
Share your skills live on Twitch in one tap with the Backbone App. Connect your Twitch account to the Backbone App by going to Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> Connect Twitch Account. After connecting press the Twitch button in the menu to start streaming!
